Life in Kampung Jagung

Life has never been better.

I could never imagine one day I would wake up looking like a cocoon wrapped up in almost 3 layers of blankets and still feel just right. No sweat. None at all.

Did I mention the sky? It is always blue, so blue and so beautiful that it's too good to be true. Oh, it rhymes... :)

However. I sometimes feel cheated by the beautiful sky, cheated into thinking that I could walk out without a care like any other beautiful day in Malaysia only to be slapped in the face by the insolent cold wind.

Until now, I'm still getting to know Mr. Weather here. He's a pretty unpredictable 'man' with mood swings every now and then. Sometimes he's too cold to me or sometimes his playful and wild side got him messing up my hair in a horrible tangle. But recently he has warm up to me though yesterday he started giving me the shivers.

Counting the numbers in my head, I realized I have been in the US for2 months now. It is amazing how Everyday has something new to offer me. So what have I experienced in these 2 months?

1) Went to the Corn Festival and had the sweetest, juiciest and fattest corns ever.

2) Seen the largest lake in my life. I still think it should be named Michigan Sea not Lake Michigan.

3)Shop in thrift shop. Best bargain in my life. E.G. $1 for one pretty white cardigan.

4) Went to Chicago and witness the GREAT CIVILIZATION of men and the most beautiful night view ever. Tall skyscrapers everywhere and been on the tallest building in Chicago--The Willis Tower. Got to 104th floor in 1 minute. Had a drink in a posh lounge at the very top of Hancock Building!
5)Attended my first ever Piano and violin duet recital by world renowned musicians.

6) Had my first US theater experience by watching the play "All in the Timing" by David Ives. Awesome!Just Awesome!

7)Went to my first American Football game! The Huskies won the game. Just went to the second home game where NIU won again! Woots!

8) Went to Apple Festival in Long Grove~!Had my first deep fried Milky Way!

9) Went to Goeberg's farm and saw pig race for the first time! And saw many other exotic animals I've never got the chance to see before...Giraffe, Illama and etc etc...And of course, HUGE pumpkins! And ugly weird looking gourds too..

10) Did Square-dancing with fun people at a Barn Bash!Went on a hay ride and ate smores!! Awesome night!
Superlatives is the best way to describe the things I've experienced. There might be some stuff I could have left out but those mentioned were the ones that really gave me great memories! Not to mention how many new friends I made and hung out with! There will be so much more exciting things in the future and even this coming weekend! MY first American Homecoming experience!WOOhhOOOO! Tailgating, partying and a visit to STARVED ROCK PARK to see the beautiful colors of Autumn !!!!

Sometimes I felt like I'm still living a dream.....if that is so, I hope I will never wake up from this beautiful dream....
