Spring break is over and Spring isn't even officially here yet.
No flowers blooming yet, the grass remains far from being green. Trees remain as bald as ever.

Sure, it has been raining more and snowing less.(well, almost not snowing at all.)But the wind is still chilly and I still couldn't go out facing the wind without at least 3 layers of clothes on.
However, there were a few days of miraculously good weather during this past week. One day was so absurdly pleasant that I could walk around Chicago with just my green T-shirt on. Why the emphasis on the color? It was St. Patrick's Day, just so you know. My dear body has grown so accustomed to the cold weather that even 15C felt unusually warm for me. Oh dear! How am I to face my hot and humid weather back home?!
My spring break was obviously less eventful than my winter break. Though I must say it was not too mundane that one should complain about it. I had the opportunity to do a lot of shopping, enjoying my time swiping my card, working hard to support the American economy. I also had the chance to travel around Chicago, earning 3 bags of shredded American dollars while making a visit to the Chicago Fed Reserve. A trip to the Shedd Aquarium was a memorable one as we saw a living Beluga swimming right before our eyes and some 'drunken' dolphins which performed some amazing stunts by swimming upside down most of the time.
The next day, we had the pleasure to make a road trip all the way to Iowa crossing the Mississippi River (Oh, Huckleberry Finn!)
Meeting Mr. Mark Twain for the first time~
It was a great sightseeing trip where I got to see the other side of America which I rarely get to see. From flat lands where a sea of cornfields seemed to be never ending to the unexpectedly hilly side of Galena~ Twas an exciting road trip, a real feast for the eyes. Not to mention, a real feast for the stomach as we savored the delicious ice cream with home made chocolate ice cream cone in an old ice cream parlor.
My Raspberry Peach Ice cream, yum~
Life's good!!! Yes, it is moments like this when you say, "Ahh, how I wish I can live like this forever." And then you realized the ugly truth, even all road trips must come to an end. Lovely spring break that seems like a fleeting memory has found its end. I'm pretty sure that by May, I will feel like all of these are soon fading like a blurry dream and I'm going to wake up from all these beautiful moments as if they have never occurred. Well, to know that they actually did, at least compensate for that bitter sweet feeling that has been swimming around in the hidden side of my heart.
~Dreaming of Cities, Prairies, Amusement parks, Snow and people I love~ I'd like to call it my American Dream~
